Former India international Dodda Ganesh strongly opposed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)’s recent social media post about the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The franchise shared a photo collage from some of India’s best moments on the tour, but most were dominated by skipper Shubman Gill, vice-captain Rishabh Pant, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep.

Pant and Akash both play for LSG in the IPL and made multiple appearances in the collage. But Ganesh noticed that opener KL Rahul was missing despite being one of India’s best batters across the tour. He suggested that Rahul was deliberately left out and called it ’embarrassing’ from the franchise.

Rahul’s 532 runs at an average of 53.20 on the tour were the highest for an opener across the two teams and the third best, only behind Shubman Gill and Joe Root, overall.

However, this is not the first time LSG have been criticised for such a post. This is commonplace since Rahul left the franchise before the IPL 2025 auction last year.

Rahul was LSG’s first captain and took them to two playoff finishes, but all never seemed well behind the scenes, especially when owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen publicly arguing with him after a loss. Pant, who came to the auction after leaving Delhi Capitals, was appointed the captain after a bumper Rs. 27 crore deal.

LSG’s fate didn’t improve as they finished seventh in the points table, the same position as the season before, and Pant didn’t do much with the bat until the last game of the group stage. Rahul moved to DC for a huge sum of Rs. 14 crore, too, and despite a strong start, they finished outside of the playoff places at fifth.
