Chelsea finally closing in on front-of-shirt sponsorship deal ... maybe

2
We’re still basking in the afterglow of that beautiful Sunday night dismantling of PSG — no, we will not stop bringing it up — just as Chelsea’s accountants are basking in the literal piles of cash earned by the club during the tournament: $115m to be exact. Not bad for a month’s work!

It takes money to make money, as they say, and thanks to that windfall (and sporting success), we just might finally unlock the big-money front-of-shirt sponsor we’ve all been waiting for — a potential £60m-a-year deal, as per the Telegraph, huge upgrade from the £40m per-year offers we apparently shrugged off last season. Chelsea are now reportedly in talks with 7-to-10, no more, no less, big global companies over a long-term partnership. So big! So global! That’s called leverage, homes, and we have tons of it now.

Was it risky to play hardball with no Champions League football and no sponsor on our shirts? For sure. But add a trophy (two actually), a “World Champions” badge, and some actual positive vibes, and suddenly we’re worth quite a bit more.

Winning in all the sheets.

Sort of.

That said, we might still not have a sponsor lined up in time for the Crystal Palace opener (which, yes, is somehow in just over a month) but there’s hope it gets sorted early in the season. In the meantime, let’s enjoy our blank kits while we still can. (But let’s sort out that World Champions badge-placement so that it doesn’t look so awkward.)

The prize pot was a cool $1 bln, thanks to the last minute TV rights deal with DAZN. Both finalists earned more than $100m, which is a pretty good return for a month’s work, as winners Chelsea got $115m, while runners-up PSG received $107m #CFC #PSG pic.twitter.com/3B6LrNuVbk — Swiss Ramble (@SwissRamble) July 14, 2025

But wait, there’s more!

That’s not all. No sir! Money’s flying left, right and center, and the players themselves are reportedly in for bonuses of around £350k each, too. Not bad for a bit of running about, some heatstroke, and an awkward trophy lift. Life at Chelsea still pays pretty nicely then!

But beyond the numbers, it just feels good, doesn’t it? For once, perhaps the first time under BlueCo ownership, we actually came out ahead — commercially and competitively. It’s been a while since we’ve said that with a straight face. If this is what the new Chelsea look like, smart, patient, and still a bit ruthless, then yeah, maybe we’re “cooking” something after all, as the kids say these days. (Is that what the kids say?)
