Men’s Tennis takes down Lipscomb in regular season finale, 5

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 7, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team capped the regular season Tuesday with a 5-2 triumph over Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn.

North Alabama (13-8) ended the Nashville trip with a strong performance in the Atlantic Sun Conference bout against the Bisons. UNA's display added the fifth road win and secured an unbeaten 5-0 regular-season record against ASUN competition.

The Lions have been a force against conference foes in the past three seasons, totaling a 24-4 record against the ASUN since 2024.

Five different Lions picked up victories against the Bisons, led by two each from junior Alberto Altur, junior Izan Orgiles and sophomore Samu Dominguez. Senior Lachlan Brain combined with Dominguez for a doubles win with sophomore Satoru Nakajima winning his respective singles match.

Altur and Orgiles claimed a top-flight doubles victory, winning their seventh overall and fourth in the past five matches. Dominguez and Brain extended their team-leading doubles win total to eight while winning their fourth-straight contest. Altur added his 13th singles victory, and Dominguez moved into double digits with his 10th alongside Orgiles. Nakajima tallied his eighth singles triumph of the campaign.

Orgiles and Altur started the day with a 6-2 win over Alex Vlahos and Oliver Thoeny. Brain and Dominguez secured the doubles point for UNA in a 6-4 victory over Henrique Ushizima and Oskar Szymczak from flight three. Junior Alex Despoja and Nakajima additionally held a 5-3 lead over Facundo Perlov and Filippo Verdese prior to doubles being completed.

Dominguez opened singles with his third-straight win of the campaign — a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory over Vlahos from flight five. Nakajima claimed his seventh-straight singles win after defeating Thoeny from flight six, 6-3, 6-4.

Orgiles' earned a hard-fought win from court three in a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 victory over Ushizima. Altur rounded out the dual with a three-set triumph over Verdese from court two, 6-0, 5-7, 6-4.
