Football Queensland is proud to announce Jimboomba United FC as the March Club Changer Club of the Month, recognised for an outstanding 12 months of community engagement and commitment to increasing participation.

Jimboomba United Football Club (JUFC) has been named the Club Changer Club of the Month for March 2026 following an outstanding 12 months of community engagement and commitment to increasing participation.

The club has seen significant growth, increasing from 470 participants in 2024 to 657 in 2025, representing a 40% overall increase. The growth in women and girls’ football has also been a major highlight, with a 25% increase demonstrating the club’s focus on creating more opportunities for female players.

A significant part of this growth has come from the work JUFC has done to engage its community. The club has delivered a range of programs across the year including school holiday clinics, an off-season junior program, and goalkeeper training. These initiatives have helped keep players involved outside of the regular season and created more entry points for new players, supported by a strong focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where players and families feel connected to the club.

JUFC has also built strong relationships within the football community, including partnering with Football Queensland and Brisbane Roar to deliver FQ x Roar holiday clinics and working with Beaudesert State High School to promote football locally. One of the standout moments of the year saw JUFC’s Coles MiniRoos players take part in a Brisbane Roar match at Suncorp Stadium as halftime heroes, giving young players a memorable experience and a connection to the professional game. Coles MiniRoos players were also invited to be player mascots, walking out onto the field with the Philippines national team at the recent AFC Women’s Asian Cup at Robina Stadium.

The club’s growth has also been supported by improvements to its facilities. Through strong collaboration with local government, JUFC has delivered a new changeroom facility, an accessible bathroom and additional storage infrastructure, upgrades that have improved accessibility and enhanced the overall experience for players and families.

The club has also placed a strong focus on culture and connection, with a mentoring program pairing junior divisional and senior players with Coles MiniRoos teams and helping younger players feel supported while building leadership across the club. Events such as the Coles MiniRoos Fun Day, in-house carnivals and club working bees have helped strengthen the sense of community, while a strong emphasis on positive sideline behaviour and player development has helped shape a supportive club environment.

This growth is reflected in the number of teams at the club. JUFC continues to expand its Coles MiniRoos and junior community teams while also building its senior programs. In 2026, the club will have three senior women’s teams, up from two in 2025, and will introduce a new community men’s team, creating more opportunities for players at all stages of their football journey.

The club was also selected as a recipient for the Growing Football Fund Community Grant which will support referee development, coaching education and health and wellbeing programs in 2026. Alongside this, JUFC has continued to invest in coach and referee development and strengthen its volunteer base, helping ensure the club can continue to grow in a sustainable way.

Women and girls’ football remains a key focus, with the club running female-only come and try sessions to provide a welcoming environment for new players. JUFC also has two female ambassadors as part of Football Queensland’s Women and Girls Ambassador Program, further strengthening its commitment to growing the female game.

Jimboomba United FC’s progress over the past year shows the impact of strong planning, community focus and a commitment to participation. By prioritising connection, development and inclusion, the club has built strong foundations for continued growth into the future and is a well-deserved recipient of the March 2026 Club Changer Club of the Month award.
