FC Goa to face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in Group D, Mohun Bagan in Group C

Indian football clubs Mohun Bagan Super Giant and FC Goa have been drawn in Group C and D, respectively, for the AFC Champions League Two 2025–26, following Friday’s draw in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

FC Goa were placed in the same group as Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr, who boast Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks. Iraq’s Al-Zawraa and Tajikistan’s FC Istiklol are the other two teams in the Gaurs’ group.

Mohun Bagan, meanwhile, were drawn alongside Islamic Republic of Iran’s Sepahan S.C., Jordan’s Al-Hussein SC and Turkmenistani outfit Ahal FC.

Both Mohun Bagan and FC Goa were a part of the western region side of the draw. The Mariners were in pot 3, while the Gaurs were a part of pot 4.

Organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the AFC Champions League Two is the second-tier club football tournament in the continent after the AFC Champions League Elite.

Mohun Bagan qualified directly for the group stage of the AFC Champions League Two after winning the Indian Super League Shield last season.

FC Goa, meanwhile, made their way to the group stage by first booking a spot in the playoff round of the competition following a Super Cup win. The Gaurs then beat Omani club Al Seeb in the playoff round to qualify for the main tournament.

The group stage of the AFC Champions League Two 2025-26 will begin on September 16 with all teams squaring off in home and away matches against opponents from their respective pools. The top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stage.

UAE’s Sharjah FC won the inaugural edition of the AFC Champions League Two, the competition’s first season following its rebrand from the AFC Cup.
