The revamped mixed doubles championship at the 2025 U.S. Open will feature an impressive lineup of star-studded pairs.

This year's groupings include Novak Djokovic teaming with fellow Serb Olga Danilovic, recent French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz paired with 2021 U.S. Open champion Emma Raducanu, and two-time U.S. Open winner Naomi Osaka teaming with Nick Kyrgios, among others.

According to a release, a $1 million prize will be on the line when the mixed doubles championship begins on Aug. 19.

The early entry list for the mixed doubles tournament at the U.S. Open features nine of the top 10 players in the world in both the men's and women's rankings.

The most glaring name missing from the list is recent French Open winner Coco Gauff, though players have until July 28 to enter the tournament.

The U.S. Open organisers explained that the top eight pairs with the highest combined singles ranking will receive automatic bids to enter the field. The other eight teams will be chosen by wild card.

The mixed doubles tournament typically began in the third week of the U.S. Open but was moved to the first week to make the schedule easier for the players.

Dan Wolken of USA Today reported that the revamped mixed doubles championship continues the effort by the United States Tennis Association to "attract star singles players to an event that had lost relevance with fans."
