What Ruben Amorim has 'already told' Bruno Fernandes amid Real Madrid links, stance on Man Utd captain

Bruno Fernandes’ Manchester United future has been in question once again over the past few days.

The club captain has been in phenomenal form, looking like a one-man team, which was always going to see him linked with a move away to a club more befitting his talents.

Bruno Fernandes is having a sensational campaign, with 16 goals and 16 assists in 44 games for Manchester United, which is already among his best seasons numerically at the club.

Over the weekend, it emerged that Real Madrid are showing an interest in signing Bruno, with a figure of £90m being cited as the price tag, which feels outrageous for his age.

It is, however, the kind of move Bruno deserves, to challenge for major honours away from United and sitting 13th in the Premier League.

Although as much as we wouldn’t blame him for making the move, ultimately, United cannot let him go, and Ruben Amorim has now agreed with this statement.

Ruben Amorim confirms Bruno Fernandes’ future at Manchester United

To take Bruno’s influence out of this current United team would prove fatal as he is the most influential player at the club on and off the pitch, with his contributions the only thing keeping this season alive.

Well, speaking on Monday in advance of the Tuesday night clash with Nottingham Forest, Amorim has told the club media how important Bruno really is.

“Bruno Fernandes to Real Madrid? It will not happen. He’s going nowhere”, Amorim confidently proclaimed.

“One day we want to win the Premier League again, so we want the best players to continue with us… and Bruno won’t leave, I already told him”.

Amorim already ruling out the exit makes an exit for Bruno very unlikely as Ineos won’t undermine the head coach that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has so publically backed.

Selling Bruno Fernandes this summer could be a catastrophe for Manchester United

On the surface of things, receiving £90m for a player who is 31 in September would be an excellent move by United, but on the other side, it could see the club sink even further.

In an era of underperformance, Bruno has been the one consistent overperformer, notching up a remarkable record of 95 goals and 82 assists in 277 games.

This record is impressive enough, but he has done it through one of the worst periods in United’s history and in some of the poorest teams the club has ever boasted.

In any other era of the past 30 years, Bruno would be a club legend by now and deserve far more. This makes it even more pivotal to win the Europa League and secure Champions League football.

United must not let Bruno leave; instead, give him the tools to play alongside and turn the United team into something befitting this great club.
