5 Liverpool transfers that could still be completed in January including £30m deal

Liverpool are top of the Premier League, flying in the Champions League, competing in the FA Cup and still hopeful of reaching the Carabao Cup final.

Arne Slot has done all this while making just one signing in the summer - Federico Chiesa - as he has just shuffled Jurgen Klopp’s pack and turned the Reds back into contenders at home and abroad.

But now January is here, will the Reds look to bolster their squad to help them fight on four fronts or will Slot keep his camp as it is heading into the final few months of the season?

As ever, Liverpool will not spend money for the sake of it and the feeling is Slot is happy with his squad and the Reds will only move for players in the coming weeks if someone they are monitoring suddenly becomes available.

They do not believe any area needs immediate addressing, even with injuries at centre-back. Mirror Football takes a look at the names linked with moving to Liverpool this month to give you the chances of any of them happening and a look at the chances of any outgoings.

INCOMINGS?

Martin Zubimendi

There was speculation that Liverpool could return for Zubimendi in this window as the Reds are flying and there was a belief that maybe the Spanish midfielder would be regretting turning down a move for him in the summer.

But the Reds moved on from him once it was made clear that he didn’t want to make the move then and now Arsenal have seemingly convinced the Real Sociedad man to move to North London in the summer. Was never going to happen after the summer.

This one exploded in the last couple of weeks when it became clear that the Napoli winger was going to be on the move this month. Liverpool - like many clubs - are admirers of the Georgia winger but they have not entered the bidding for him. PSG look set to complete the signing. Would need a major u-turn now.

Milos Kerkez

One that might be explored in the summer but Bournemouth will demand a huge fee for the left back and there will be competition from Manchester City and United

Ryan One

The Sheffield United striker has been linked with Liverpool recently but is not understood to be a target at this stage. At only 18, he is a player a number of clubs are watching as he has potential but no move expected from the Reds.

Stefanos Tzimas

The Greek forward has been heavily linked in the past few days but there’s no interest in the PAOK man.

Antonee Robinson

The Fulham left back is being watched by a number of top Premier League clubs, including Manchester United. Liverpool may be in the market for a left back in the summer but they have no plans to sign one this month.

OUTGOINGS?

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid have tried to sign him this month with an approach to Liverpool which was quickly rebuffed. The Spanish giants contemplated another discussion with the Reds but have yet to put another call in. Liverpool have no interest in selling and will continue in their bid to get him to sign a new contract.

Kaide Gordon

Liverpool recalled the young forward from a loan spell at Norwich as he was not getting enough first-team action with the Championship club. He made just 10 appearances for the Canaries and the Reds will consider offers from other clubs for a loan in the second half of the season.

Ben Doak

The Scotland international is enjoying a fruitful spell on loan at Middlesbrough this season and is eager to stay there for the remainder of the campaign. But Crystal Palace have already tried with a £15m bid which was swiftly rejected. Liverpool won’t listen to offers below £30m. If another bid was to come at that level then they would have a decision to make.

Tyler Morton

He spoke after impressing in the FA Cup third round win over Accrington Stanley game about having a decision to make. Slot was keen to keep him in the summer to ensure there was enough back up after missing out on Zubimendi. No concrete offers yet but there is real interest.

Jayden Danns

Liverpool open to the right loan offers for the teenage forward but only if they think it suits his development.

James McConnell

Similar to Danns, Liverpool will consider the right offers but as of yet not come in. Will get game time in FA Cup. Blackburn showed interest last summer.
