After more than two decades at the top of world tennis, two-time Olympic champion Andy Murray is preparing for a different kind of competition, this time on the golf course.Murray’s next chapter could see him chasing birdies instead of break points.Speaking on “The Romesh Ranganathan Show”, Murray revealed that he is considering starting out as a “golf caddie, hopefully [for] a professional golfer at some stage.”Murray, who retired from tennis after the Paris 2024 Olympics, has been a golf fan since his youth, often playing during breaks from tennis. But this time, seems like his interest goes beyond a hobby."Well, I love golf, and I think if you love that sport, I think it would be a great job."If you were working with a top golfer and being there when they're having a great moment on the course, and feeling like you can help a little bit with decisions or things like that, I think it'd be a brilliant job."Since ending his playing career last year, Murray has participated in a few professional celebrity golf events as a player. His desire to improve his handicap has led him to spend hours on the course each week.Former world number one Murray won three Grand Slam tournaments, including on home grass at Wimbledon twice, claimed the ATP Tour Finals, and led Great Britain to the Davis Cup title,"Sir Andy" won men's singles gold at the Rio 2016 and London 2012 Games, and a mixed doubles silver medal at his home Olympics alongside Laura Robson for Team GB.
