Gary Lineker has been informed of Liverpool's plans in the transfer marketLiverpool boss Arne Slot has insisted the Reds are planning to strengthen their squad in the summer after another quiet transfer window. The Merseyside giants have only signed winger Federico Chiesa and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili since Slot took the helm, with the shot-stopper yet to arrive at Anfield. Liverpool have failed to bring in any fresh faces this month, with the winter transfer deadline passing on Monday. And Slot explained the club’s transfer plans as he gave the inside scoop to former England striker Gary Lineker for the BBC.“Liverpool should always be competing for a league title, we should always be competing for the Champions League. I'm hoping I will be able to keep the club at that level,” Slot explained during an interview with Lineker for Football Focus. “It’s maybe harder if you go to a club where everybody expects you to win, win, win, win, win and you look at the group of players you feel like, ‘This is going to be difficult’. But that’s obviously not the situation over here. “I know people sometimes question this because they haven't seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well.
