India's top pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, is anticipated to participate in the 2025 Asia Cup, according to PTI. The competition will take place between September 9 and September 28. He might, however, be unable to play in the opening Test of a two-match series against the West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from October 2–6. This decision is a component of a plan to efficiently manage his workload.

With 14 wickets, Bumrah played a key role in India's 2-2 Test series draw with England. But because of his workload management following a back injury sustained during last year's Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against Australia, he only participated in three of the five games. Recent information suggests that he will participate in the Asia Cup 2025, despite early reports that said he will miss it.

The management of the Indian cricket team may have taken a calculated risk by not including Bumrah in the opening Test match against the West Indies in order to guarantee his fitness for the 2025 Asia Cup.
