The much-anticipated Champions Trophy is returning next month as the mega event is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9. Initially, the entire tournament was supposed to be held in Pakistan , but India’s refusal will see them playing their matches in Dubai.

The Pakistan Cricket Board designated Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium for the heavyweight India vs Pakistan clash but now the match will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 23.

Despite the shift in the venue, PCB is set for a massive windfall as they will get a substantial chunk of the revenue generated in Dubai. A PCB official confirmed to Cricket Pakistan that Pakistan will get 50% of the ticket sales from the games in Dubai. The report said, “An agreement with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) is in its final stages and will soon be formalized in writing. The Dubai Cricket Stadium, which has a seating capacity exceeding 25,000, is expected to be packed, especially for the Pakistan-India match.“

India vs Pakistan clashes has been a huge hit among cricket lovers and the ICC ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup encounters saw people throng into the stadium to watch their favourite players live.

The Champions Trophy is returning after a seven year absence and defending champions Pakistan will be one of the favourites alongside India. The tickets for the Champions Trophy is yet to be released and ICC is expected to notify about the availability of tickets.
