Pakistan Cricket Board’s Director Domestic Cricket Operations Abdullah Khurram Niazi talks about the 2025-26 season in detail in the 64th episode of the PCB Podcast.

DDCO PCB Abdullah, 43, is also a veteran of 11 first class and two List A games which he played between 1999 and 2003 for Mohammad Hafeez-led Sargodha side.

In an engaging conversation he laid bare the process that took place before carving the schedule for the 2025-26 season, which involved multiple meetings of the Domestic Cricket Reforms Committee. The said Committee had Regional, departmental representatives and PCB officials.

Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of competitiveness and introduction of the Hanif Mohammad Trophy for 12 Regions leading to the premier first-class tournament Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Moreover, he gave a thorough account of how the men’s age group, club, district, regional and departmental structure works in the vast domestic cricket ecosystem of Pakistan.
