CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's tennis team continue their run at their fourth UAA title in the past six tournaments as they take on #6 Case Western Reserve in the UAA title match.* UChicago comes in with a 21-2 record overall this season following a 4-0 win over Rochester and a 4-1 win over NYU in the UAA Tournament.* The Maroons have added wins over #14 WashU, #22 Carnegie Mellon, #26 UW-Whitewater, #27 NYU, and #34 Gustavus Adolphus on their eight-match winning streak.* UChicago comes in at 12-2 in matches over top-35 teams this season with both losses coming to #1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.leads the Maroons in singles play this season with a 21-3 record overall and a 15-1 record in dual matches to take the #27 spot in the NCAA Division III singles rankings and the #10 spot in the Central Region.has also added 21 wins with just four losses as he is ranked as the #5 singles player in NCAA Division III and the #3 singles player in the Central Region.also enters the weekend ranked as the #12 singles player in NCAA Division III and the #4 singles player in the Central Region with a 15-8 record on the year.* In doubles play,has played lights out with a 23-6 record to lead the Maroons. Hsieh and Grantcharov are ranked as the #22 doubles team in NCAA Division III and the #7 team in the Central Region with a 12-6 record as a team.andhave played well in doubles play this season and enter the weekend ranked as the #3 doubles team in NCAA Division III and the #2 doubles team in the Central Region with an 13-7 record as a tandem.* Following this weekend, UChicago will set their sights defending their 2024 National Championship with the 2025 NCAA Tournament kicking off on the weekend of May 9-11.* Case Western Reserve comes into the championship match with a 24-5 record overall on the season.* The Spartans have only lost three matches to Division III opponents including #2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, #3 Denison, and #5 Denison.* Case Western took down #5 Emory (4-2) and #33 Brandeis (4-1) in the first two rounds of the UAA Tournament.* Ajay Mahenthiran is the top-ranked Case Western singles player, ranked #17 in NCAA Division III and #7 in the Central Region with a 20-11 record overall.* George Kosseifi and Santiago Salazar Garza lead the Spartans with 21 singles wins on the season. The two players are ranked #37 and #49 in NCAA Division III and #13 and #14 in the Midwest Region this season.* Ansh Shah is also ranked in the top-25 in the country with a 9-4 singles record on the year.* In doubles, the duo of Anmay Devaraj and Casey Hishinuma is the top team with a 13-3 record overall, ranked #9 in NCAA Division III and #5 in the Midwest Region.
