Royal Challengers Bengaluru completed the highest successful chase in Women’s Premier League (WPL) history to lift its second title in two years.

Charani with the last over and that’s a single to give de Klerk the strike. A single again. Eight off four balls. FOUR!! Radha sends it over the in-field and RCB is four runs away!

The ball has gone for a FOUR but the bails lit up! Umpires having a chat but the bails didn’t fall and that means RCB HAS WON THE WPL! Radha Yadav wins it for her team!

Henry with the ball and de Klerk with a FOUR! RCB needs 14 off 10! Smriti needs 13 for a 100, RCB needs 13 to win.

OUT! SMRITI IS OUT! Henry goes down leg and Smriti exposes the stump and that’s that! The RCB skipper has to walk!

Smriti 87 (41) b Henry

DROPPED! Radha on the first ball goes big but it goes up! Minnu comes below it and she fluffs it! Is that the title?

Nandini bowling out and Richa welcomes her with a FOUR down the ground! A dot to follow. DC needs more of those. Slower one and Richa swings, but mistimes it. Another dot.

GONE! RICHA IS OUT! Minnu takes the catch and the Capitals’ faithful has found its voice again.

Richa 6 (6) c Minnu b Nandini

One finisher goes, another comes in. Nadine de Klerk at the crease. FOUR! Smriti calms the nerves again with a boundary through the off side.

RCB vs DC final: Smriti Mandhana, Georgia Voll share highest partnership in WPL history

Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll registered the highest partnership in Women’s Premier League (WPL) history during the final against Delhi Capitals, which took place at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Thursday.

Minnu back into the attack. FOUR! Smriti makes space and sends it over mid off for a boundary! GONE! Voll is out and Shafali takes the catch and throws it back at the ground in anger and frustration.

Voll 79 (54) c Shafali b Minnu

Is this the turning point for DC or is it too little too late?

Richa Ghosh has come out to finish the chase.

Nandini with the ball and a slower one doesn’t allow Smriti to get a shot away. FOUR! That was a chance to send Voll out but Wolvaardt and Minnu don’t communicate and that’s another boundary. RCB is running away with it! A timeout has been taken.

Asking rate in nine per over now. Current rate is over 10. Kapp bowling out. Easy, so easy! Smriti with a FOUR down the ground this time! FOUR! We have lost count at this point! The batters are dealing in boundaries.

Charani with her third over. Wickets, DC needs wickets badly now. It’s so easy for RCB batters to find the gaps! Smriti with another FOUR over mid-wicket. SWASHBUCKLING STUFF! Voll with a fine FOUR through backward square leg. Smriti with another FOUR through off side, between two fielders. And 150 comes up for the chasing side!

Henry returns. FOUR! Smriti with another boundary! Jemimah looking a bit out of sorts as she walks around, setting the field. And a misfield from Kapp in the deep gifts Voll another FOUR!

Sneh Rana with her first over. Smriti with an inside-out FOUR and she notches up her fifty! Voll with a FOUR as she finds the gap through the covers with ease! Consecutive FOURs! Voll swivels and sends it past the short fine leg fielder. 15 runs off the over.

Charani with her second over. SIX! Smriti Mandhana has truly been unleashed! She dances down and sends it down the ground for a maximum!

That’s 50 for Voll and the RCB dugout is on its feet!

Nandini back after leaking 15 runs in her first over. OUCH! Voll smacked it hard down the ground and Nandini stretches her right hand out in hopes of taking the catch. But she just gets her fingertips on it. A medical timeout now as DC’s team tends to the pacer.

Nandini is good to go and Smriti flicks it through the leg side for a single. SIX! Nandini was going good so far but Smriti says ‘No, no’ as she smacks it over leg side for a maximum!

Minnu Mani with her first over and she begins with a wide. FOUR! The ball floats in and turns into Voll but she makes space and drives it through the covers! Sneh once again coming clutch in the deep, denying Voll another four.

Shafali Verma is thrown the ball. Can she get DC a breakthrough? Voll smacks it down the ground but it’s just a run. Classy as always from Smriti! She nudges the ball between the fielders through backward point for a FOUR!

N. Shree Charani with the ball and Voll welcomes her with a FOUR over mid off! She dances down the track and gets the boundary. A quick single to follow. FOUR! Smriti simply guides it through the gap on the off side for a boundary! A couple of singles to end the over. And that’s a timeout.

Nandini Sharma with her first over. Slower ball but no worries for Voll! She lifts it over mid-wicket for a FOUR! Jemimah with a fielding fumble. Smriti with a FOUR over mid-wicket! Have the shackles come off for the RCB skipper? YES INDEED! Smriti ends the over with a SIX, slog swept over the leg side!

Kapp continues. Smriti drives through mid off but Jemimah is there to stop her counterpart’s shot. Just a single there. Chance! Voll strikes it hard through off side but it seems like it was Charani who made a good stop. A better throw, however, would have sent Voll back but for now, the Australian stays on.

FOUR! This time, Voll finds the gap on the off side! Consecutive FOURs! This time, Voll drives it past the diving mid off fielder in Jemimah.

Henry with her second over. The Windies bowler continues to keep the stumps at play, forcing Voll to defend on the back foot. But next ball, straying down leg, Voll pushes it through mid on for a FOUR!

Another FOUR! Voll resorts to another paddle scoop behind the stumps and there’s no one there to stop the sphere.

Kapp returns. FOUR! Voll paddles it fine towards fine leg for a boundary as Nandini Sharma tries a late dive for good measure. FOUR! Voll with another boundary, this time cuts it through backward point.

GONE! A slower one and the ball crashes through the gates and clean bowls Grace Harris! Early breakthrough for the Capitals!

Harris 9 (7) b Henry

Georgia Voll the new batter, and she gingerly takes a single to get off the mark. Henry is having some game so far!

Two runs taken after Smriti doesn’t get contact but Lizelle Lee also fails to collect the ball. Sneh Rana with an athletic effort to save two. Next ball, Smriti with an exquisite straight drive for a FOUR!

It’s Grace Harris and Smriti Mandhana begin the chase and the former smacks Marizanne Kapp for a FOUR through point! Another FOUR! Harris looks to send the ball leg side but an edge sends it over and behind the ‘keeper for another boundary. A chance there! But the ball falls safely and Harris stays on.

RCB vs DC: Jemimah-led Delhi Capitals registers highest total in a WPL final

Delhi Capitals registered the highest-ever total in a Women’s Premier League final on Thursday at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

RCB vs DC: What is the highest successful chase in WPL history?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru is playing Delhi Capitals on Thursday at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara for the 2026 Women’s Premier League title.

A first innings worthy of a final! RCB will need to complete the highest successful run chase in the WPL, a record it currently holds. The move to send a yet-to-fire Chinelle Henry paid off. Her 35 off 15 perfectly complemented Wolvaardt’s (44) contributions and Jemimah’s fighting fifty to power Delhi Capitals to the highest WPL total in a final. That should give it some confidence ahead of the second innings. Losing the toss was a good thing after all.

A lot of work for RCB. Bowlers were nowhere up to the mark, with Bell being the only positive performer. From a tidy start to leaking runs for the rest of the innings, RCB was unable to take control of the game.

The chase will begin in a bit! Has DC done enough to pave the way for its first title, or will RCB do something special here? All to play for.

Sayali to bowl the last over. Starts with a wide, but RCB challenges it. A lengthy check and the wide stands. Six balls remain. Henry can only get the single. Wolvaardt not on strike. Another wide delivery, but Wolvaardt reached out to it and give strike back to Henry. SIX! Henry smacks that over the off side for another maximum. Sayali responds with a yorker. Henry gets just the single. FOUR! Wolvaardt uses the fuller wide ball to loft it over cover for more runs. Brings up the 200! Low full toss. Tries to get a double on the last ball but can’t complete it.

Laura Wolvaardt run out (Reddy/†Ghosh) 44 (25)

Henry opens her boundary tally. Takes it behind square leg for a FOUR! De Klerk tries to go wider, but doesn’t get it right. Has to bowl it again. FOUR! Thumped back straight down for another four. One more! Targets the empty deep cover region for more vital runs. A fourth FOUR! Hits it towards deep midwicket. SIX! Absolute power on that one! Sails over square leg. Henry has clobbered 24 runs off this over.

Arundhati to bowl out. She backs up Bell’s efforts with some great variations. Henry gets nothing but air. SIX! Wolvaardt breaksfree from the constraints and launches one over deep midwicket.

Two more overs remain. Can RCB pull things back or will DC speed away to a very strong title?

Chinelle Henry is the new batter. DC approach is quite clear: Go big. Lauren Bell to bowl out. Henry is off the mark with a single. Bell with some slower deliveries to take the zing out of this attack. WOlvaardt obliges and takes the easy singles.

FOUR to welcome Sayali back! Jemimah helps it just over short fine leg. Churns out a short ball that Jemimah git on top of. Deep cover fielder did well to stop the boundary. OUT! And that’s a breakthrough. Not the best ball, but Jemimah did not get enough power to clear the fielder. Captain walks back, but not without a fight.

Jemimah Rodrigues c de Klerk b Satghare 57 (37)

Timeout.

De Klerk to bowl her third. Some better, controlled bowling by the South African. A few singles and that brings up Jemimah’s half-century. What an occasion to do so! SIX to end the over! Wolvaardt pulls it just above deep square leg, and that’s an 11-run over.

Radha back. Jemimah is in the zone! Off the back foot, she strikes it hard past a diving point to add another FOUR! Drives it on the up behind extra cover for a single. Wolvaardt thumps it just past Radha’s hand. Five runs added with singles and a double.

Arundhati continues. Jemimah had to sprawl at the danger end to complete the second run, and do so comfortably. Gets right on top of the bouncer and manages to find a single. Kept to running this over but Jemimah and Wolvaardt would be more than happy with that. Seven coming off it.

Shreyanka back again. FOUR! Fuller to Jemimah, who made ample space to drive it just past extra cover. Change of angles. Shreyanka goes around the wicket. FOUR more! Thumped just over midwicket for more runs. FOUR! Powerfully cut to deep point for her third boundary this over. Ends it with a single. 13 coming off it.

Arundhati brought back. Jemimah and Wolvaardt start with singles. Dabs into the leg side for another single. Both happy with the singles. Some healthy running between the wickets. Team 100 up for DC in good time too.

De Klerk continues. FOUR! Jemimah drives it past extra cover. Shreyanka tries to stop the ball but can’t hold on to it. FOUR to end the over! Driven once again through cover. An 11-run over.

Radha Yadav with the ball. Sixth bowler in nine overs. Wolvaardt takes a single, Jemimah adds a double. Precise timing! Jemimah drives it perfectly into the gap behind covers and was placed just wide of the fielder in the deep. Nine off the over.

And they take a small break. Safe to say that was a fairly eventful first phase of the innings. Shafali and Lee were looking dangerous, but RCB managed to send them back before they switched gears. Wolvaardt and Jemimah, though, have been quick to get going.

Nadine de Klerk now. RCB trying everything. Lee struck on the pads and everyone was quick to shout for lbw. Given but Lee reviews it immediately. And it goes her way! Ball was missing leg stump. OUT! No further damage inflicted by Lee as she skies a ball to Grace Harris running in from long on. She has to go. RCB pegs back.

Lizelle Lee c Harris b de Klerk 37 (30)

Jemimah Rodrigues in at 4. The DC skipper gets off the mark with one driven to deep extra cover. Wolvaardt too targets the same are. The cover fielder made to work hard.

First sign of spin. Shreyanka Patil handed the ball. FOUR! No stopping Lee. Gets enough power on it to take it to an empty deep square leg. FOUR! Slog swept to deep wicket for more runs. SIX! What a sound off the bat! That was middled over deep midwicket for another maximum. Pure power! Tries to beat mid off but can only get the single. Too wide to Wolvaardt, who loves accessing the off side. Drives it pristinely through cover for FOUR! 19 runs off the over.

Arundhati Reddy into the attack. Shafali tries to power in between deep midwicket and long on, but the fielder in the deep did well to save two. FOUR! Picks up the full toss and hoiks it to deep square region. FOUR more! Cuts it exquisitely between cover and point. They run another double. A productive over for DC so far. But RCB fight back! Short ball ploy works! Shafali nicks it while trying to pull, and Richa takes a smart catch.

Damage done in the PowerPlay. Laura Wolvaardt wastes no time. Times this perfectly past deep midwicket to get on the board.

Shafali Verma c †Ghosh b Reddy 20 (13)

Bell to bowl her third. Shafali drives it to deep sweeper cover for a single. Lee pulls from her pads towards leg side but falls just short of square leg. Edged and four! Gets it wide of short third to the ropes. FOUR! Goes aerial again, but did not get enough power. Lands right over the fielders in the ring on the leg side. Seven off the over.

SIX! That should be relieving for Lee. Hammers it straight down the ground. AND ANOTHER ONE! Lee is up and running! Pulls the next one all the way over deep midwicket. Sayali now under pressure. Wrong line and punished. Ball going down leg and takes the pad. No protection there and it goes to the ropes for FOUR. Wide! Sayali in some confusion here. Lee tonks the ball to deep midwicket and Shafali gets on strike. Steps out but is beaten! Was she out of the crease when Richa took the bails off? Looks like her bat was grounded just in time. She stays. Two balls remaining. Dropped! Shafali whacks the fuller ball straight back to Sayali, who cannot hold on. Slips right out of her hand, and Shafali gets another chance.

That was some fourth over.

Bell continues. Lee tried to follow the ball but got struck on the pad. Nowhere near the right line though. Swing and a miss! Lee is eager to break free from the shackles, but is unable to get bat on ball. A short ball, and Lee does not indulge. Four dots now. Finally gets some porper contact and takes it to deep point. Lee will take strike again.

Sayali Satgarhe from the other end. Lee gets on one knee to sweep it behind, but is stopped by the short fine fielder. Just one. Chipped in the air, but no mid-wicket to inflict damage. Shafali hands strike back to Lee. A string of dots now. Lee unable to breakthrough the tight infield. Hits it towards deep wicket for a single. Only three runs from the over and a perfect start for RCB so far.

It’s game time! Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma walk out to the middle for Delhi Capitals. A powerful duo who will hope to display some fireworks today as well. Lauren Bell with the new ball and will look to use some early swing on offer.

First ball, a bit of swing that shapes away from Lee’s bat, who blocks it into the off side. Steps out on the next ball to negate the movement, but can’t beat the extra cover fielder. Goes leg side on the next and manages to get a single. That’s DC now off the mark. Bell is keeping the stumps in play, and Shafali does well to block it. Hold the pose! Shafali goes over the in field on the off side to get a boundary and maybe ease the nerves. Just five off the over.
