Finals of the FC Barcelona Penyes Group football tournament

On Saturday 21 June, the FC Barcelona Supporters’ Clubs Football Association concluded the season with the finals of its tournaments at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. More than 1,000 people from the 16 member supporters’ clubs enjoyed an unforgettable day at this iconic venue, where the champions were crowned in the U10, U12, and boys’ and girls’ U14 categories.

After a series of thrilling matches under the blazing sun, this year’s winning teams were:

Josep-Ignasi Macià, member of the FC Barcelona Board of Directors; Pere Valentí Mora, former player and vice-president of the Barça Players Association (ABJ); Paco Clos, also a former player and ABJ member; and Lluís Monràs, president of the Supporters’ Clubs Football Association, presented the trophies to the winners and medals to all participants. Joining them were numerous institutional representatives, including Montserrat Canas, mayor of Cervelló; Miguel Comino, mayor of Sant Vicenç dels Horts; and Abel Garcia, Secretary General for Sport at the Generalitat of Catalonia, who all watched as the youngsters enjoyed this festive occasion.

The Supporters’ Clubs Football Association was founded in 1957, born out of a desire among the clubs to promote grassroots football. Over the years, it became a key talent pool for FC Barcelona, particularly before the club’s own youth system had been fully developed. Notable players who began in these teams include Albert Ferrer, Víctor Valdés, Robert Moreno, Marc Guiu, and Héctor Fort, all of whom went on to play for Barça’s first team.
