Man Utd player tipped to be ‘frightening’ in new league, ‘Could be like a Bale regen…’

One player pushing for an exit from Manchester United this summer is Marcus Rashford.

The academy graduate has no way back at Old Trafford, as he pushes with everything to make his dream move.

It is tough to pinpoint exactly what went wrong for Marcus Rashford at Manchester United, as he seemed destined to retire at the club.

Things were going so well just a few years ago, when Luke Shaw tipped Rashford to win the Ballon d’Or. However, since his 40-goal and assist season, the 27-year-old has not come close to reaching these levels.

So, after a failed Aston Villa loan, Rashford is pushing to join Barcelona this summer. The United forward has even spoken out over a deal, with Rashford admitting he’d love to play beside Lamine Yamal.

This is the only move he wants, with Rashford telling United to put him in the U21s if they can’t accept Barcelona’s likely offer of a loan for him.

Demetri Mitchell expects Marcus Rashford to dominate La Liga

Moving to Barcelona would see Rashford achieve his dream, and right now, it would be a step up in footballing terms, with Barcelona the reigning La Liga champions and in the Champions League.

Rashford will also have seen how impactful Antony and Mason Greenwood have been in La Liga over the past 24 months, and thinks he can get back on track in a league which he could dominate.

Now, former United full-back Demetri Mitchell has issued a prediction on X as to why he thinks Rashford should join Barcelona.

“Rashford in La Liga would be frightening when he gets back to his best, could be like a Bale Regen”, he tweeted on Wednesday.

This statement surprisingly had some questioning why this might be the case, which Mitchell responded to, explaining that Rashford physically is just too good for La Liga.

“Because he’s still 27 playing in a league that’s less physically demanding, so his physical traits will be overpowered in that league, along with his ability to laugh.”

We are inclined to believe this, considering a less physical Antony impressed in La Liga, so it is scary to think what Rashford can do. This is why a straight loan may serve United well, as his value could skyrocket if he goes on to dominate Spanish football.

If Rashford moves to Spain, it won’t be the first time he has taken on Spanish opposition, having played several times while in European competition for United.

The record he has against La Liga opponents is solid, but ultimately, it is one he would need to improve to give himself a chance of making a loan to Barcelona permanent.

Barcelona remain interested in Rashford despite signing Nico Williams, which could indicate that he is viewed as a striker to ease the burden on 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski.

Rashford has admitted he enjoys being a striker as he matures. In this role with Yamal and Williams creating for him, Rashford could easily be the top scorer in the league and will almost certainly have United fans dreaming of having him up front.
