Barcelona sensation will receive the AFE Best Player of the Season award today

Lamine Yamal will today be presented with the award for Best Player of the Season for 2024/25 at the Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE) gala, reports SPORT. The gala will take place at the Las Ventas bullring in Madrid.

During the morning, AFE representatives visited Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva to deliver the trophy in person, although it remains uncertain whether the winger will be able to attend the gala.

After all, Lamine is expected to report to the Spanish national team at 8 pm in Las Rozas ahead of the upcoming international fixtures.

At just 18 years of age, Lamine continues to accumulate distinctions that highlight his rapid development.

The teenager won the Kopa Trophy award twice in 2024 and 2025, was awarded the Golden Boy award last year and finished second in the Ballon d’Or rankings this year.

After experiencing some discomfort due to pubalgia in recent weeks, the Spanish winger is beginning to feel increasingly comfortable, as shown in his performances in the two matches this week against Club Brugge and Celta Vigo.

Alongside the Barcelona attacker, Ewa Pajor of Barça Femeni, and Kirian Rodriguez, midfielder for UD Las Palmas, will also be recognised.

Pajor will receive the award for Best Female Player in the Liga F after scoring 25 goals that helped her team secure the league title. AFE president David Aganzo personally presented the award to Pajor last week at the Ciutat Esportiva facilities.

Kirian, meanwhile, will be honoured with the Manuel Esteo Award for his inspiring example of perseverance after overcoming Hodgkin lymphoma, a story that has made him a symbol of resilience and determination in Spanish football.

The AFE gala will also recognise, through votes cast by players themselves, the standout performers from each national category and the goalkeepers with the fewest goals conceded during the 2024/25 season.
