Mohamed Salah offered huge wages to join Saudi Pro League

Liverpool attacking mainstay Mohamed Salah has been offered an astonishing £150 million-per-season deal to make a move to the Middle East.

Mohamed Salah’s future has been a massive talking point since the start of the summer. While the Egyptian international was heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, he ended up extending his stay at Liverpool.

However, that doesn’t rule out a potential move away from the Merseyside club in 2026. Given his recent form, even the Reds could look to cash in on the 33-year-old, who is in the final phase of his career.

According to Graeme Bailey via TBR, a record-breaking contract offer from the Saudi Pro League is still on the table. Clubs from the Middle East are still ready to offer him a deal worth around £150 million a year. Salah is a top target for them, and they are ready to put him in the same bracket as Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the highest earner in world football.

Salah has done wonders at Liverpool since joining them from AS Roma back in 2017. The 33-year-old has helped them win all major titles, and with his contract running out, he had the opportunity to move to the Middle East last summer.

However, the Reds convinced him to extend his stay at the club after a sensational season where he contributed towards 57 goals in his 52 outings. He ended up signing a two-year deal, making him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

Following the bumper new deal, Salah is yet to hit top gear. He has been somewhat inconsistent this season, and the team has also struggled to reach the levels they did last season. Despite the renewal, his form suggests he could end up leaving the club in 2026.

£150 million offer for Salah remains on the table

Salah was offered a deal worth around £150 million a year from the Saudi Pro League during the summer, and as per Bailey, the offer is still on the table. The Egyptian could choose to move the Middle East on a record-breaking deal whenever he wants to.

The transfer expert said: “Mo Salah and Pro League links won’t go away, but he doesn’t want them to; he will end up in Saudi Arabia one day.

“I can confirm that the Saudis’ offer to Salah is an open one, the deal is ready for him as and when he wants it.

“They are not talking to him now, and haven’t talked to him or Liverpool about a deal in January; they don’t really need to, they are ready when he is.”

While Salah decided against moving to the Middle East in the summer, Bailey is quite confident that he will be playing in Saudi Arabia in the near future. Saudi Pro League clubs might not be in talks with Liverpool over a potential winter transfer, but their offer for the 33-year-old is still active.

The Liverpool star could choose to take the reported £150 million a year whenever he feels like, which will also include him becoming a Tourism ambassador and having the right to part-ownership of a club in the future.
