A similar post read: 'Everyone was complaining about Arsenal's corners. Now they're all copying our routines.

'Absolutely nothing wrong with that goal, however.'

Reacting to a clip of the incident, another United supporter seethed: 'How is this a foul when Arsenal scored every single week with corners by throwing their arms and bodies into players during corner.'

The debate over the legitimacy of such tactics at corners comes as the Gunners have once again proved to be a consistently dangerous threat from set pieces this season.

Thanks to the work of set-piece coach Nicolas Jover - who joined from Manchester City in the summer of 2021 - Arsenal have become a formidable force when presented with dead-ball situations.

This has seen them earn plenty of detractors, who point to an alleged use of so-called 'dark arts' in such situations.

One high-profile individual who appeared to be particularly irked was Gary Neville, who labelled the set-piece coach the 'most annoying man in football' earlier this month.

Neville urged Jover to 'take a step back' and avoid 'overestimating his role' within the team, claiming that he had the potential to cause friction within the squad.

Speaking about Jover on the latest episode of Stick to Football, Neville said: 'I called him the most annoying man in football. Do you know something? I'm cementing my position, I'm doubling down.

'It's offending me every week. I'm going to say this really calmly, I think he's overreaching his importance.

'If a goalkeeper makes a good save, I don't see the goalkeeping coach on the edge of the touchline. I don't see the other coaches going up and getting the glory for it.'
