Clubber TV to start their Cork GAA coverage this weekend

Clubber TV will start their coverage of Cork GAA fixtures this weekend showing two games.

The Cork County Board finalised a deal with the streaming service earlier this year to broadcast their club championship matches for the next three seasons.

It has replaced the Rebels Online streaming platform which the Cork County Board controlled for the 2023 and ’24 championship campaigns.

Clubber TV will be showing the McCarthy Insurance Group Division 1 Football League decider between St Finbarr’s and Clonakilty on Friday in Ballygarvan with throw-in at 7.30pm.

On the same evening, Clubber TV will also be based in Ballyvourney for the McCarthy Insurance Group Division 2 Football League final that will be contested between Carbery Rangers and Knocknagree. That one also starts at 7.30pm.

The cost to watch the games on Friday on Clubber TV are priced at €12.99 each. An annual pass is priced at €149.99 compared to €79.99 when Rebels Online were in control.

The increased cost is down to the fact that Clubber TV already shows games in other counties including Wexford, Kilkenny, Waterford, Kerry and Tipperary. They also cover underage inter-county matches and school competitions.

The new deal for Cork GAA is reportedly worth in excess of €500,000 providing a significant financial boost to the Cork County Board struggling to deal with the debt associated to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

There will be a lot of attention on the meeting of St Finbarr’s and Clonakilty on Friday evening in an encounter that should draw a large crowd to perhaps an unusual venue in Ballygarvan for a league final. But, Páirc Uí Rinn is out of action at the moment due to ongoing works.

The intriguing part in all of this is that both the Barrs and Clon will meet again in three weeks’ time in Bandon in the McCarthy Insurance Group Premier SFC.

That opening group contest is an important one especially with Carrigaline and Carbery Rangers also in the group.

The latter are the form team on Leeside at the moment. The Rosscarbery-based outfit will go into their Division 2 league final on Friday evening against Knocknagree looking for an 11th successive victory in all competitions.
