Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his fine form at the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 with a quick-fire hundred against England in the final at Harare on Friday.

Albert to Suryavanshi, a single to long on. Vedant Trivedi off the mark off his first ball, taps through the off side and runs through for a single.

Suryavanshi with a proper tease here, goes to 99 with another single to long on. A yorker to Vedant, who digs this and turn it towards third man for one run.

HUNDRED! Suryavanshi gets it to the mark in just 55 balls. That is the third-fastest ton in Youth ODIs.

Alex Green is back into the attack for his fourth over. FOUR! Mhatre gently prods the second ball through point, but a misfield in the deep gets him a boundary.

SIX! Fifty for Mhatre in 50 balls. Stands tall against this hard length ball, swats this straight back.

OUT! A short ball again and Mhatre instinctively pulls this, straight into the hands of the deep square leg fielder.

Ahmed to Suryavanshi. After back-to-back dots, Suryavanshi dances down the wicket and lofts him over long off.

SIX more! Wafts this over long on. FOUR now! Slashes this over covers. SIX to end the over! Another ball at a length and Suryavanshi whacks this down the ground. 22 runs from the over.

Left-arm orthodox Ralphie Albert into the attack. DROPPED! Another life for Mhatre. He tries to drive this but gets it in the air, the cover fielder jumps and tries to collect it one-handed over his head, sees the ball pop out of his hand.

Five runs in the over.

Ahmed for his third over. SIX! Suryavanshi goes inside out over covers. SIX again! A length ball at the stumps and Suryavanshi deposits this over long on. This one lands outside the park.

Stumping missed! Mhatre is done in flight by Ahmed, gets beaten and drags his foot outside the crease. But Thomas Rew fails to collect it and the chance goes begging.

Minto for his second. Suryavanshi punches the third ball on the up through point, this is racing away to the fence but the third man fielder puts in a dive to cut this off and keep it to just a couple.

FOUR for Mhatre! The midwicket fielder is brought into the circle but Minto ends up bowling short, pulls it away over the fielder.

Ahmed’s stump-to-stump line get him five dot balls on the trot. But Mhatre just about squeezes the last delivery past Ahmed to pick a single and thwart the attempts to secure a first maiden.

Lumsden to continue. FOUR! Suryavanshi with a deft punch through backward point off a length ball. Nine runs from this over.

England gets in a spinner. Farhan Ahmed to bowl his off break now.

SIX for Suryavanshi. Right in the slot for the left-hander, heaves this over long on. He taps the next to long off for a single, getting to his fifty in just 32 balls. 10 runs from that over.

Lumsden to Mhatre, after three dot balls, Mhatre launches a pull shot. There is a deep square leg in place but he misreads it, tries to take in on the bounce and sees the ball burst through his hands. FOUR from that shot.

FOUR more! Hard length from Lumsden but Mhatre rides the bounce and wafts this over mid off.

James Minto to Suryavanshi, SIX! Massive! A length ball on off and Suryavanshi swings through the line and parks this over long on. FOUR more! Room on offer and Suryavanshi latches on, sending this over covers.

FOUR again! A full toss at the stumps, lofted over mid on. Ends the over with a cover drive for FOUR.

Four!! Wayward from Morgan, on the hips clipped through fine leg for four by Suryavanshi. Overpitched outside off, Suryavanshi lets it go. Back of a length on the hips, turned to deep square for one. Five from the over.

Green to Aaron, short of good length on the body, Aaron can’t get bat on it. Four!! A touch fuller, Aaron pushes it straight down the ground for a boundary. Picks up a single to third man. Suryavanshi cuts hard at a wide ball outside off, the fielder at deep point runs across and keeps it to one. WICKET!! A push at a full ball outside off, doesn’t get the timing right and holes out to the fielder at point.

Morgan to Suryavanshi, back of a length, defended solidly. Suryavanshi beaten by one that rises from back of a length. Four!! On the hips, tucked fine past short fine leg for a boundary. Stump length on off, Suryavanshi defends to point.

Alex Green from the other end. Short to Suryavanshi, who defends it back to the bowler while on his toes. Short and wide, left alone (uncharacteristically) by Suryavanshi. Four!! Wide outside off again, Suryavanshi goes after this and finds the gap through cover. Short again, cut to deep third for one.

India U19 have a task at hand, trying to wade through the first half an hour with some moisture around. But with Suryavanshi at one end, there is sure to be some fireworks in store.

Aaron to face the first ball from Morgan. Back of a length on the stumps, some extra bounce that surprises Aaron as he looked to press forward and defend. Back-of-a-length moving away from the right-hander, beats the outside edge. Four!! Bowled fuller, Aaron drives it past mid off and the outfield does the rest. Extra bounce again, Aaron manages to defend to point.

Andy Flower expects the batters to enjoy batting on the Harare Sports Club. But he says there is a bit more moisture on this surface compared to previous games. Toss shouldn’t play a part but the first half hour might provide something for the bowlers he says.

In pursuit of a record-extending sixth title, the India would bank on its swashbuckling batting line-up when it takes on England, in what promises to be an evenly-matched summit clash of the ICC Under-19 World Cup on Friday.

India’s successful chase of a massive total to humble Afghanistan in the semifinal, where skipper Ayush Mhatre and opener Aaron George finally produced innings of substance, augurs well for the five-time champion, aiming to regain the trophy it last lifted in 2022.

India has shown resolve from the very first group match against the United States. In the semifinal, it decimated a hardened Afghanistan side to maintain a blemish-free record despite being in pursuit of a 300-plus target.

It now faces another unbeaten team in England.

India will be aware that England has reached this far after knocking out defending champion Australia and will be high on confidence.

To pull off a win, India will need a collective performance befitting the quality in its line-up, which also has batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose firestorm approach has left opposition teams struggling for answers.
