His heart is green, as ASSE fans say, and there's no question of getting the wrong shirt. Timothée Chalamet is currently in France for the Marty Supremepromotional tour , and is happily taking part in the fratricidal battles between French football fans. While the Franco-American actor was answering a few questions from pop culture media outlet Konbini, the journalist handed over an Olympique Lyonnais football shirt to sign. The actor signed, but added, "à bas Lyon" , next to his autograph which translates roughly as 'down with Lyon'.The actor, whose father is French, boasts loud and clear of his love for "les Verts" , or 'the Greens' as Saint-Étienne are widely known. " It's my father's childhood football team," he explained on the programme Quotidien. It's his team too, and the actor is quick to recount his adventures as a supporter when he spent the holidays with his paternal grandparents in the region. His passion for ASSE may be inherited from his life on the other side of the Atlantic, in a country where American football is king, but it is very serious.Having just won Best Actor for his role as a table tennis player in Marty Supreme at the Golden Globes Awards ceremony in Los Angeles last month, Chalamet told Paris Match that for 2026 to be truly perfect, "Saint-Étienne will have to get back into Ligue 1".ASSE are currently 5th in Ligue 2, seven points behind leaders Troyes.
