AFL news 2025, Collingwood Magpies say Brayden Maynard in car crash

Collingwood star Brayden Maynard was involved in a car crash in Melbourne on Thursday.

"Fortunately, neither Brayden nor the passengers in the other vehicle were hurt in the accident," Collingwood football boss Charlie Gardiner said.

"Speaking with Brayden this morning, this was an unfortunate accident, but thankfully he and the other driver and passenger were OK."

Nine's chief AFL reporter Tom Morris posted details of the crash to social media.

Maynard's car reportedly collided with a ute.

"Big relief for all involved," Morris said.

"Witnesses say it was a scary moment when the cars collided."

The Magpies were thrashed by 52 points at the hands of Greater Western Sydney on Sunday.

They now face the Power on Saturday night.

Morris says Maynard is expected to be available for the game.
