GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina University student-athletes combined to post a 3.37 grade point average (GPA) for the 2025 fall semester – the highest since calculations began in 2011 – athletic officials announced Monday.For the first time, outside of the COVID year, each team sported a 3.0 GPA or higher with several teams reaching new academic benchmarks. Additionally, East Carolina student-athletes have averaged a 3.0 or higher GPA for 18 consecutive semesters.Men's golf (3.86) and softball (3.69) secured its highest semester GPAs ever, while men's cross country earned its best fall semester GPA (3.56). Men's basketball (3.11), football (3.08) and volleyball (3.52) achieved its best non-COVID fall semester GPAs and both the men's and women's golf (3.84) boasted the highest men and women's program GPAs.Over 300 student-athletes (332) posted a 3.0 or higher GPA in the semester with 47 achieving Chancellor's List status with a 4.0.
