The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the rescheduling of Thursday's Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi , which was set to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, news agency PTI reported. This decision comes in the wake of heightened security concerns following an alleged drone crash near the stadium and India's retaliation to Pakistan's shelling across LoC.The drone incident occurred just hours before the scheduled match, prompting immediate investigations by local authorities. Reports indicate that the drone crashed into a restaurant building near the stadium, causing partial damage and resulting in two civilians being injured. The area has since been sealed off as officials work to determine the drone's origin and whether it was carrying any hazardous payload. Visuals from the crash site have circulated widely on social media, further intensifying concerns about the safety of players and spectators during the tournament. In light of these events, the PCB stated, "The Pakistan Cricket Board, in consultation with all the stakeholders, has decided to reschedule tonight's HBL PSL X match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The PCB will announce the revised date in due course."The rescheduling also comes after the Indian armed forces conducted precision missile strikes on nine terror targets within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including known strongholds of groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. This military action was a retaliatory measure following an attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily tourists. As concerns rise regarding the safety of foreign players, reports have emerged that England's players participating in the PSL are divided on whether to continue their involvement in the tournament or return home. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) convened an emergency meeting to assess the security situation. In a press statement issued Thursday afternoon, the Indian Defence Ministry confirmed the strikes, and said: "This morning, the Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defence Radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan. The Indian response has been in the same domain with the same intensity as Pakistan. It has been reliably learnt that an Air Defence system at Lahore has been neutralised."(With inputs from PTI)
