Indian captain Rohit Sharma landed in another controversy after his leaked chat with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Zaheer Khan went viral. Rohit hasn't been in great form for Mumbai Indians MI ) in IPL 2025 and registered scores of 0, 8, and 13 in the first three games, resulting in MI losing two out of the three matches. MI suffered defeats to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) before beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the previous encounter.

MI are set to take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 4. Ahead of the mouth-watering encounter, MI shared a video on Instagram, highlighting the bond between Rohit Sharma and LSG captain Rishabh Pant; however, what caught the attention of fans was Rohit's chat with Zaheer Khan.

"Jo jab Karna tha, maine kiya barabar se, ab mereko kuch karne ki zarurat nahi hai (Whatever had to be done, I did it properly, now I don't need to do anything)," Rohit Sharma can be heard as telling Zaheer, before Rishabh Pant comes from behind and hugs him.

Rohit's remark left netizens unimpressed, who felt that the former MI captain is no longer interested in performing well for the franchise. For the unversed, Rohit was sacked as MI captain ahead of IPL 2024 as the franchise handed over the leadership reins to Hardik Pandya. There were reports that Rohit wasn't pleased with the move and thought about parting ways with the franchise. However, contrary to the reports, he was retained by the MI ahead of IPL 2025.

Meanwhile, it's not clear what Rohit was talking about to Zaheer, and the above speculations are mere fan made theories that have no real backing. Recently, Rohit spoke about his 15-year journey with the Mumbai Indians and said his immediate goal is to bring glory to MI.

Speaking to MITV, Rohit said, “My immediate goal is to try and bring the glory back to MI, win the trophy here. I want to win it but we know that to win, it takes a lot of hard work. A lot of things have to come together; that is the challenge of IPL."
