The blockbuster trade between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) is set to reshape the upcoming IPL season, with both teams agreeing to a major player swap, according to Cricbuzz. Sanju Samson, long pursued by CSK as an Indian wicketkeeper-batter capable of strengthening their top order, will finally join the Yellow Army. In return, RR will secure Ravindra Jadeja, whose all-round credentials remain among the best in Indian cricket.

The financial framework of the deal places Jadeja and Samson on equal footing, as both carry a league fee of ₹18 crore. CSK have additionally included Sam Curran, valued at ₹2.4 crore, to complete the trade. After addressing technical concerns around RR’s overseas-player balance, the BCCI has officially cleared the exchange, with the announcement expected on November 15.

Jadeja’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter for CSK. Since joining the franchise through a secret bid in 2012, he has played 185 matches, scored 2000 runs, and taken over 140 wickets at an impressive economy rate. His iconic finish in the 2023 IPL final, where he smashed a six and a four off the last two balls, remains one of the defining moments in CSK history. Though tensions surfaced briefly during his 2022 captaincy stint, the parting this time is amicable.
