Marcus Rashford had to make a big sacrifice to secure his Barcelona moveJadon Sancho is reportedly adopting the same strategy as Marcus Rashford in a desperate attempt to force a move away from Manchester United. Sancho is one of several players to have been deemed surplus to requirements by Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim. Chelsea had an obligation to buy him at the end of his loan spell but ended up paying United a penalty fee to get out of the clause. It leaves Sancho no closer to finding a new club with just over a fortnight until the Premier League season gets underway. A number of sides in Europe have been linked with a move but nothing is believed to be imminent as things stand. One of those clubs is said to be Borussia Dortmund, who Sancho played for before joining United in the summer of 2021. He showed glimpses of his old form and played in that season's Champions League final, when Dortmund were beaten by Real Madrid. A third spell in Germany has been mooted as a potential option for Sancho and he is reportedly willing to make sacrifices to ensure it happens. He is prepared to take a huge pay cut in order to force through a return to Dortmund, according to German outlet Bild. It is claimed that Sancho's preferred choice would be to go back to his former club, but they would be unable to afford his full salary. It comes after Rashford was forced to adopt a similar approach to secure a dream loan move to Barcelona. The forward is earning around £165,000-per-week at the Nou Camp, according to talkSPORT, representing a huge drop from his £325,000-per-week salary at United. Barcelona are said to be covering 100 per cent of those reduced wages during his loan spell. Only time will tell if Sancho gets the opportunity to return to Dortmund before the transfer window closes next month. It seems clear that he no longer has a future at United, who have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer. The Red Devils want to offload Sancho and several others to fund new signings, but Amorim has said that he is willing to welcome them back if no suitors can be found."If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join because they are our players," explained the United boss. "I know Omar [Berrada, CEO] and Jason [Wilcox, director of football] and the club have a number for these players. "If they don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that. I understand the clubs are waiting for the last minute, but they can have a surprise. I'm ready to receive the players. They have more competition. "If you want to play in the World Cup next year you need to play, so I'm really happy with that because I have more options. If they have to fight each other to play, for me it's perfect."
